- What do we call someone who reads letters, journals, and monuments to find out about the past?
- What do we call the story that historians write about the past?
- What do archeologists do?
- What kinds of things did people leave behind them, in the story we read?

- Make observations of 2 small objects in your home. Draw a picture of one of the objects on page 6 of your lab workbook. Come up with words to describe the object. Then, draw a picture of the other object on page 7 of your workbook. Write words to describe it. Then, answer the questions on page 8.
Math
- Goals:
- Make up number stories to illustrate number bonds.
- Associate number bonds with part-whole.
- Divide groups in different ways.
- Find and memorize number pairs that make 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
- Textbook - pp18-20.

- Start at your birth and make a timeline of your life! Be sure to include important things that have happened to you along the way. You can color it, add photos, anything you'd like! Bring it to share with the class on Wednesday.

Spanish
History
- Read p. 7-13 in "The Story of the World"
- Things to discuss:
- What sort of food did nomads eat?
- Where did nomads sleep?
- Why did nomads move from place to place?
- What does "nomad" mean?
- Why was the Fertile Crescent a good place to live?
- Why was it called "fertile"?
- What was it shaped like?
- What did the first farmers grow?
- Did farmers move from place to place like nomads?
- How did farmers water their crops?
- Did the farmers still hunt wild animals?
- What did the farmers build their houses out of?
- How did they protect their village?
- Use this map to do the following:
- Find and circle the town of Jericho.
- Trace the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in blue.
- Lightly shade the seas blue.
- Use a green crayon or colored pencil to color in the area between and around the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers. This is the Fertile Crescent, and some nomads moved here because it was so easy to find food.
- If you want to, you can color the coloring page of A Farmer Using a Shaduf.
