Thursday
Abeka (Spelling/Reading/Phonics)
- Lesson in 17 Curriculum Guide on
Phonics/Spelling for the lesson, Lesson 16 & 17 in the Reading Portion.
- Corresponding workbook pages listed
in Curriculum Guide for each lesson.
Handwriting
- Do Lesson 17 in your workbook. Take your time and do your very best!
Grammar
- Read and study the poem "Work" in Lesson 15.
- Play this Noun Game! Pop the balloons with the nouns in them! ONLY pop the nouns! :)
Spanish
- Go over pages 8 & 9 with your parents.
- Listen to and enjoy your music!
Math
- Watch this video
- Do workbook pages 31-33
- Check and go through your work with your parents!
Science
- Reread chapter 4 and discuss acids and bases.
- Bring in either an acid or a base to class on Wednesday!
History
- Reread your packet on Egypt.
- Do your "Words to Know" activity for the keywords in the reading.
Writing
- Look at this picture! Who do you think this guy is? What do you think he is doing? Make up a story that goes along with the picture, and bring it in to share it with the class!
- Just try your best. I will keep your weekly writing and put it in your writing folder so you can see how much your writing improves over the year!
Music
- If you are in music class, practice "C, C, This is C" 10 times.
- Practice the Honking Cars/G Clef song (I forgot the real name!) 10 times.
Friday

- I want you to point out nouns in your house. See if you and your parents can point out common and proper nouns in your refrigerator!
Spanish
- See if you can use your Spanish greeting, numbers, and shapes today!
Math
History
- Read pages 28-32 in Story of the World.
- Talk about the following questions:
- What kinds of tombs did pharaohs have?
- What were they made out of?
- What was Cheops's pyramid called?
- How long did it take to build it?
- How did the Egyptians build the pyramids?
- What does the Great Sphinx look like?
- Did the Great Pyramid keep robbers out?
- You can do your "Making a Pyramid" activity, if you would like!
Writing
- Work on your writing assignment about the crazy picture!
Music
- If you are in music class, practice "C, C, This is C" 10 times.
- Practice the Honking Cars/G Clef song (I forgot the real name!) 10 times.
Monday

- Bring in an acid or a base!
History
- Find your Postcard from Egypt.
- Paste it to a piece of construction paper or other stiff paper.
- Cut it out.
- Write a postcard to someone as if you were visiting Egypt!
- Color your postcard.
- Send it to someone!
Writing
- Work on your writing assignment and bring it in on Wednesday!
Music
- If you are in music class, practice "C, C, This is C" 10 times.

Tuesday

- Do you remember what Mesopotamia means?
- What two rivers is Mesopotamia between?
- Were the cities in Sumer friends with each other?
- What did Sargon do?
- What was his country called?
- How did he keep control of it?
- What do we call it when a ruler uses an army to make sure that people obey without question?
