Things to do for Wednesday, 9/26!
Thursday
Abeka (Spelling/Reading/Phonics)
- Lesson in 26 Curriculum Guide on
Phonics Only

in Curriculum Guide for each lesson.
- If you are following the Abeka spelling lessons, you will be assessing the list today. You can do check their spelling verbally or in writing. Introduce list #3. Each Wednesday, we will be reviewing their spelling list in class. If it is the first time they have seen the list, they will most likely have trouble with the review game.
Handwriting
- Compare yesterday's work (lesson 26) to the work from the first two weeks of class! Everyone is doing a great job!
- Do Lesson 27 in your workbook. Take your time and do your very best!
Grammar
- Do Lesson 21 with parents.
- Be sure to review common and proper nouns thoroughly. It is still tricky for some!
- Study the poem, "Work". We will be recording it on Wednesday!
Spanish
- Only half the class had their worksheets from the at-home work, which made it a sad day for stars! :(
- Listen to #15 on your CD. It is the song you worked on yesterday in class. Listen to this class and sing it each day, so that you will know the words next week in class!
Math
- The students took a math test in class yesterday! Today, I would like for them to look over the tests and work on any problems that they missed.
- Play this math game!
- Click on the correct ladybug!
Science
- Turn to page 47 in you lab book. Answer the questions about the lab that we did in class. Oral or written answers are fine!
- For those mixtures that weren't done in class, make your best guess (hypothesis) as to what would happen!
History
- Read p. 51 to the bottom of page 53 in Story of the World and discuss.
Writing
- Take out your writing assignment sheet from yesterday. Think about your favorite hiding spot. Write all about it! Use complete sentences and make sure to use your best handwriting! These will go in your writing folder, and we are going to hand them up to show the class!
Music 1
- Play "C, What Do you C" 10 times
- Play "Driving in the G Clef" 10 times

- Work on this week's writing assignment! We will share them out loud, in class, and add them to your writing folder. Be sure to use your best handwriting and to write in sentences. I don't want you to just tell me your favorite hiding spot... I want you to tell me all about it! :)

Tuesday

- Instruction on Phonics/Reading/Spelling/etc for the lesson, with workbook pages listed in Curriculum Guide.
- In class tomorrow, we will review spelling list #3. For those of you not choosing to use the Abeka curriculum, it will be best if your child is not seeing the spelling list for the first time. It causes distractions and makes it difficult to teach the children as a group. This class has been scheduled at the beginning of the day to address this issue.
- In class tomorrow, we will be discussing the following concepts learned from at-home materials. For those not using the Abeka curriculum, you may want to touch on these so that your child is not hearing them for the first time.
- The definition of a compound word.
- The letters l, f, and s often show up in pairs at the end of short-vowel words, such as in doll, small, miss, hill, etc.
Handwriting
- Do Lesson 30 with your parents. Do your very best!
Writing
- Be sure to finish your writing. Do your best! We will show it off in class!
Grammar
- Teach lesson 23 to your child.
- Study the poem "Work" We will be making a video tomorrow!
