Things to do by Wed, 2/13

Thursday

Abeka (Spelling/Reading/Phonics)

  • Phonics & Reading Lesson 106
  • Lesson 107 in Spelling, Reading, and Phonics 
    • There are corresponding workbook pages for the Spelling book, Letters & Sounds (for those utilizing Abeka phonics), Language book, and the Readers. 
    • Work on memorizing the poem "God Gave Me Eyes" on p. 69 of your Spelling and Poetry book.  We will recite this poem on 2/20!

Writing

  • In class, we started the writing assignment, "If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to..."  The kids will need to do a little research in order to explain why they would go there and what they would do!

Handwriting

  • Lesson 16 Day 1
     

Grammar

  • Work on your summer sheets!
  • Study your grammar cards.

 

Science

  • Find pictures of architecture, buildings, or nature that contain these 5 shapes:  square, rectangle, circle, oval, and triangle.  Cut these pictures from magazines, etc and bring them to class on Wednesday!
  • We have begun our lessons in Georgia ecology!  Bring in a small binder or folder for handouts and worksheets.  No book needed!

  • Look page through pages 51-54 in the workbook.  Make any corrections.

History

  • Practice those math facts!  Having simple addition memorized makes a HUGE difference as you move on to harder problems!
  • Parents-- Choose the level of difficulty and time limit for your child --> Game

    • In class tomorrow, we will review this week's spelling list.  This is the list that you began at home on Thursday of last week, so we will be playing a review game with it in prep for their at home spelling test.

Valentine's Day Celebration tomorrow!  We will be giving out Valentines (into the bags that we decorate in the morning) and then having a treat after lunch.  :)
